Howdy-doody 234 Tribe! It's been a hot minute, What's new? How's it hanging? For us here in Lagos, Nigeria, with the dawning of the 'Ember' months came heavy rainfalls and we all know how it gets when it rains in Lagos *Inserts Brother Bernard meme*. We hope the tribe is well, Happy New Month of September, and Welcome to the last quarter of the year. Breathe, you've done great so far. Sending virtual hugs...
This week's episode of 234 Essential is an Exclusive one, why??... *drum rolls* we have Guests!!! as the title suggests, GenZ, Baddie, or not? Your favorite co-hosts, AOT2 and Ugochi The Igbo Stallion, have an untethered chat with three (3) Genz's. Generation Z has emerged as a population increasingly worthy of attention, especially now as its older members are in their 20s and have become a politically engaged force in recent elections. Born after 1996, Generation Zers while they share a number of characteristics with Millennials, their formative years have been shaped by a drastically different world, resulting in key differences in attitudes, tendencies and outlook. Our guests spill the tea on this episode!
Meet our guests
First, Our resident GenZ, sound engineer, and 234 Essential community manager, Nana!
Next is not a newbie to the 234 Tribe, Toyoelejo! Toyoelejo is still on the journey of self-discovery. She makes sense of the world through stories and finds joy in expressing them through writing. She strongly believes that honest and straightforward communication can create deep connections. When asked to describe herself, she says- "I'm an open, sincere, and self-aware person. My friends often see me as funny and, honestly, I agree!" Her wandering mind always seeks answers to her questions. She's a storyteller and cherishes how casual conversations reveal a glimpse into others' lives, helping her not only understand them better but also find clarity in her journey.
She is brave yet fearful, bold yet sometimes hesitant, and occasionally struggles with my insecurities. Currently, she's savouring the simplicity of life and believes everyone should too.
Last but not least is Unyime Ekim, mid/senior software engineer, chess enthusiast, and host of the wits and tantrums podcast.
